IEPrep is built for special education teachers, which means it is built around student privacy. Student names never leave your device identified.Before anything is sent to our AI provider, names are replaced with aliases like “Student A,” and generated lessons are stored in that de-identified form. We don't sell data, we don't advertise, and we don't use your students' information for anything except making your lessons.
Your account: your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. Your classroom data: class names, student display names (we ask for first name and last initial only — never full names), disability categories, accommodations, reading levels, IEP goal text, and progress trial scores. Usage: counts and sizes of lesson/slide generations, used for plan limits and service health. We do not collect data from students, and students do not use IEPrep.
Classroom data is stored on your device and, when you sign in, synced to your private account in our database (Supabase, hosted in the United States), isolated per account and protected by row-level security. Lesson generation is performed by Anthropic's Claude models under commercial API terms — Anthropic does not use this data to train models. Content sent for generation is pseudonymized as described above. Our hosting provider is Railway. We use no analytics trackers or advertising networks.
Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete classes, students, goals, and lessons in the app at any time; deleting them removes them from your synced account copy too. To delete your entire account and all cloud data, use the button below while signed in, or email alagumuthu@gmail.com from your account email and we will complete it within 30 days.
When used with school data, IEPrep operates as a “school official” service provider under FERPA: we process education records only to provide the service, under the school's direction, with no secondary use. A signed Data Processing Agreement is available for school divisions — contact us.
IEPrep is used by teachers, not children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13.
